7 June John McCleer : "Picturing India: People, Places and the East India
The British engagement with India was an extensively visual one. Weaving
together the stories of individual objects, their creators and the people and
events they depict, this talk will explore the East India Company and its
complex relationship with India, its people and cultures".

Retired Hampshire Police Commissioner tells us of the mystery of an English actress who disappeared on a voyage from Cape Town to
6 Sept Nick Saunders from the Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum with a talk to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice of WW1 and
its effect on our area. 1918 was a terrible year for our district with more
casualties than any other year of the war.
4 Oct Lyndsey Stride with a talk called “Commoning Voices”. Lyndsey is a
member of a traditional communing family. She is a trustee of the
foundation for Common Lands and works in education and interpretation.
She is currently coordinating a project called “Commoning Voices” and was
featured on “Countryfile” on Sunday 13 Feb 2018.
